Ephemoire Design Team March Project Share

Today I have my first project to share for the month of March as part of the Design Team for Ephemoire Digital Designs, 2 different creations. My first piece is a 8x10 inch painting canvas that I altered in a mixed media way.  As you can see I painted different brush strokes with a variety of brush sizes. I used 4 colors, green, cream, light brown and a gold acrylic and adhered one of the images thats part of a journal kit  (Irish Eyes Journal Kit) with matte medium. When I cut out the image I did used a little bit of Heidi Swapp's Color Shine in gold to the edges. The flowers are from Dollar Tree that I hoarded away from a couple of years ago but I have found that they are always available during the month of Feb/Mar while they have their St. Patrick's Day decor. The fabric bow is a strip of fabric I tore from a swatch I had available. And that is it for this canvas decor.

My second project using 2 of the digital kits; Irish Eyes Journal Kit and Irish Loaded Mini Envelope Printable. I put together and assortment of tags that vary in shapes and sizes. Some include pockets with little pull out tags and some have neat little embellishments that were altered to have a cohesive look. http://facebook.com/ephemoire

The tags were created in a variety of ways using tag shaped dies to hand cutting. I did do a lot of ink distressing to the tags using Tim Holtz brand, colors I used were Brushed Corduroy and Walnut stain. A couple were distressed with the Oxide Inks in the color Peeled Paint.
These tags below all used the papers from the kit, I did do all the fussy cutting to the images shown. I used some buttons for centerpieces and a bit of trims/ribbons for that added element that will capture the viewers interest.https://etsy.me/2xuK5V3

The next group of tags you can see that these are pocket tags that contain extra mini tags. This was a great digital kit that included many pieces available to cut apart and adhere where I needed them. I also created a shaker tag, its hard to see that the paper used is from the collection and has a water color appearance. The velum was sprayed with Heidi Swapps Color Shine in gold and the wording, shamrock are stickers from Reminisce (circa 2005ish).

The last tag is the largest and I used 3 vintage book pages that were the size 3.45x5in after watching a tutorial video on youtube by Tina (channel name: shabbydabbydoodah) called "Another Large Junk Journal Pocket" but I altered my tag pockets in a vertical pattern. Folding 2 pages at different points I was able to create the pockets and using the journal kit papers I cut them down to fit into the pockets. Each little tag has a tab thats also included in the kit. I did do a lot of sewing (not perfect by the way!) to 1, adhere close the pockets and 2, around each tag.

This was such a great project to do and the opportunity to create whatever came to mind allowed me to  put in my spin on these digital designs and also to inspire others who might not be too encouraged to try out digital images. We gotta start somewhere so why not just go for it! So head over to any one of the sites available for more ideas and inspiration.

Paper Cherries Design Team Project Share

February Design Team Creations

For the month of February the Paper Cherries collection was themed BIRTHDAY BASH, I was able to create multiple crafts with the kit. It contained a fun collection of embellishments that were very easy to work with. The kit contained a spool of sliver thread, 3 different colored tassels, purple iridescent washi tape, clear glittered gem stones, and a sequins mix. (My apologies for the instagram photos)

For the first project I put together a matching set of birthday card and mini gift bag. Using a variety of birthday themed printed scrapbook papers I ensembled the layout as you see in the images below, I used the mini tassels to create a little banner for the bag. The card includes a shaker shape using the sequins and I also added a tassel to the circle die cut I used for the background on the cupcake sticker.

The next project was a embellishment box filled with lots of goodies! I created this one using a dollar tree Hardware Storage Case, it was smaller in size but it worked well. Using all of the kit in this one, I cut down a birthday themed scrapbook paper and turned it into a sequin shaker style. I then began to embellish by using some cut apart tags from a crate paper collection, added trims, also cut out balloons from the matching papers. I did use a wooden cupcake tag that I covered up with cupcake printed paper added the clear glittered gem dot on top and as you can see I also placed a chipboard heart above it. I cut out a triangle for the shape of a party hat and embellished that with trims. I used the purple iridescent washi tape on a white piece of paper and used a bow die to create the mini bow. I added a little chipboard heart and a star gem stone. The tassels were added to the cut apart tags, which I also included a little sequin star charm to it as well. (Lots of stickers and other fun goodies were used as well).

Since I do a little bit of memory keeping with my kiddo's photos, I went on to create a pocket page layout using more of the pieces from the kit. My daughter's 3rd birthday had us photographing her quite a bit, this one in the image is of her in her new pajamas she was very happy to get.  I made a sequin pocket using my wrmk fuse tool, added the sequins from the kit and a happy sticker I had in my stash. The next pocket I used a journaling card, added some Hooray collection paper from crate paper and also a heart from another one of their lines, but I went on to embellish it more myself with the silver thread, a iridescent heart sticker and a tassel to finish it off. The next journal card was just embellished with a scrap of paper, the washi tape and a sticker from Shimelle's sticker book.

Banner Time

With Valentine's Day around the corner I started working on some fun banners. I decided to finally use a set of chipboard coasters I bought some time ago..... who knows when really! I used up a 6x6 paper pad from My Mind's Eye, some regular card stock and of course my favorite stuff right now Heidi Swapp's Color Shine spray Bronzer. I love the way it turned out so tarnished and scruffy looking! BE MINE, will probably go up in the shop or who knows one of my friends might want this one and buy it off me! But it sure was a one fun to make.
